Poole Bushido Ju-Jitsu Club and Kenjou Karate Club came together for the first ever championship held at the Poole Martial Arts & Fitness Centre. There was an excellent turnout with 22 junior competitors from both disciplines competing against each other in a number of categories including kata, pairs kata, weapons kata, continuous sparring and ground fighting.
Many of the children had never competed before. Senior Instructor, Sensei Bob Scott, said “I saw some young members of our club put their heart and soul into the competition. It made everyone involved very proud.”
Hosting a competition such as this is no mean feat so thanks must go to everyone who worked really hard to make it happen – Andy Walker and Bob Scott of Poole Bushido Ju-Jitsu and Glen Lynch of Kenjou Karate, and all those who helped out on the day.
Poole Martial Arts and Fitness Centre, which is home to both clubs, has seen an increase in the number of children and adults taking up a martial art.
